This hot, dry, and dusty region faces extreme poverty due to political instability, devastating ethnic conflicts, drought, and famine.

But God is at work, unfolding His incredible plan for the peoples of this region. Abundant opportunities exist in medicine, education, and engineering. Furthermore, workers report new eagerness for the Gospel among some Muslim people groups.
